Investor Saul P. Steinberg holds nearly 5% of UAL Corp., parent company of United Airlines, Wall Streets sources said. The stake by Steinberg’s Reliance Group Holdings was first reported in USA Today on Monday. Steinberg has had close ties with UAL Chief Executive Stephen M. Wolf. Wolf ran Tiger International Inc. before moving to UAL in 1987. Reliance has a 14.8% stake in Tiger, the world’s biggest air cargo company.
