Data General Corp. posted a $19.5-million loss in its first-quarter, contrasted with a profit of $13.8 million a year ago. Revenue fell 9% to $309 million. The Westboro, Mass.-based minicomputer maker attributed the loss in part to an interruption in sales from a transition to a new line of computers.
