In Brief : Dollar Mixed as Dealers Await News

LONDON — The U.S. dollar ended mixed in dull European trading today, with many dealers awaiting the release of U.S. unemployment data and a meeting of finance ministers from major industrialized countries.
Gold prices were lower.
Most dealers said they were moving to the sidelines before the so-called Group of Seven meeting of industrialized nations late Thursday. The G-7 countries include the United States, West Germany, Japan, France, Britain, Italy and Canada.
