Nay on Abdul-Jabbar and Yea on Russell

Apparently, the name of a certain Boston Celtics center from the 1950s and ‘60s has been deemed verboten by Scott Ostler. How else to explain that (Bill Russell) the man selected the greatest player of all time at the NBA’s 35th anniversary in 1980, the man who defined the center position as it is today, one of the all-time great shot blockers, rebounders and intimidators on defense was not even mentioned in Ostler’s articales on the all-time NBA team and the all-time leaping team?
