“Maestro,” an exhibit of photographic portraits of internationally renowned conductors by Tom Zimberoff, is on display in the Grand Hall of the Music Center through May 7.
Zimberoff, formerly a classical music student at USC, covered violinist Jascha Heifetz’s farewell recital for Time magazine in 1972 and has since won acclaim for his political, publicity and entertainment photography.
The exhibit’s 20 portraits, including those of Erich Leinsdorf, Zubin Mehta, Andre Previn, Simon Rattle and Michael Tilson Thomas, were selected from more than 50 of Zimberoff’s works photographed over the last eight years portraying almost all of the world’s principal orchestra conductors.
