THE PREPS : Bothwell Returns to Pacifica as School’s Baseball Coach
- Share via
Kent Bothwell has been named varsity baseball coach at Pacifica High School, Don Wise, the school’s principal, said Friday.
Bothwell replaces co-coaches Bill Whitely and Dave Fryer, who were fired Thursday for using profanity while working with the team. Assistant coach Nick Martinez also was fired.
Bothwell, a graduate of Pacifica, was the school’s baseball coach two years ago, but left after losing his teaching position because of declining enrollment. He was a walk-on assistant coach for the Mariners last season.
“Kent knows the kids and he’s familiar with the program,” Wise said. “He has experience at the high school and college levels. The kids are pleased he’s taking over the team.”
Bothwell will be a walk-on coach.
