Local News in Brief : 24 Cabbies Cited as Being Unlicensed

Undercover sheriff’s deputies and county tax officials have cited 24 cab drivers and seized 21 taxis in a crackdown on unlicensed operators in West Hollywood and Universal City.
The joint operation was conducted this week after complaints from licensed cab drivers in the areas, Sheriff’s Deputy George Ducoulombier said.
The undercover deputies and tax officials contacted drivers to see if they were available, and if they were, their licenses were checked, he said.
