Local News in Brief : Man Dies After Crash Near Freeway Exit

A 45-year-old Northridge man died from injuries suffered when his car left the eastbound Ventura Freeway, hit a curb on the exit ramp and collided with a vehicle traveling north on Balboa Boulevard, Los Angeles police said.
Juan I. Torres was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center after the accident at 5 p.m. Wednesday. He died several hours later after undergoing surgery, police said.
Salvador V. Anguiano, 25, the driver of the other vehicle, suffered minor injuries. He was treated at Granada Hills Community Hospital for a broken nose and lacerations, police said.
