A bobcat that apparently had been struck by a car was found dead Tuesday on Los Alisos Boulevard near Cordova Road in Mission Viejo.
The 20-pound, white-and-black animal was discovered by a passer-by.
“It’s just one of those unfortunate things that happen to wildlife,” said Jack Edwards, a spokesman for Orange County Animal Control.
“He must have just gotten into the traffic,” he said.
Bobcats roam throughout Orange County, Edwards said, but they are not concentrated in a particular area. Edwards said the bobcat may have been looking for food or simply wandering from his natural environment.
