A lone bandit robbed a Union Bank branch Tuesday in Huntington Beach and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, authorities said.
The holdup occurred about 10:40 a.m. at the bank branch in the 17100 block of Beach Boulevard, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Bill Mamelli said.
Mamelli said the robber entered the bank, approached a teller and presented a threatening note. The teller gave money to the man, and he fled on foot, Mamelli said, adding, “No vehicle was seen.”
No one was hurt in the incident.
Mamelli said the suspect was described as a Latino about 30 to 40 years of age, 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, with a heavy build and “salt-and-pepper-colored hair.”
