San Fernando Valley residents once again can turn in their leftover paint, pesticides and unwanted crankcase oil today and Sunday in Los Angeles’ third roundup of household hazardous wastes.
The materials will be collected from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at Valley College’s parking lot B, 5800 Fulton Ave., Van Nuys. The program is free.
City toxic waste specialists will package the materials for recycling or safe disposal.
Two previous roundups netted 9,000 gallons of paint and 5,700 gallons of motor oil, said a spokesman for the city Board of Public Works. Pesticides and aerosols were also turned in, as were less common items such as ammunition.
