USDHS 3, La Jolla 2--Sean Nugent went two for three for USDHS (12-3, 4-1). La Jolla is 4-12, 1-5.

City Eastern League

Mira Mesa 3, Morse 2--Brendon Hause had winning RBI for Mira Mesa (14-2, 6-0). Larry Mothershed went one for two and Byron Grisby went two for four for Morse (7-9, 1-4).

Patrick Henry 11, Serra 1--Brian Simmons went two for three and drove in two runs. Scott Arlin went two for three and scored twice for Patrick Henry.

City Central League

Hoover 5, St. Augustine 3--Saints’ starter Brad Gennaro struck out 17, but lost. Hoover’s Roger Blake broke a 3-3 tie with two out in the seventh with a two-run triple.

San Diego 7, Christian 4--San Diego starter Josh Stepner struck out nine and went three for four, drove in three runs and stole a base.

Grossmont 3-A League

El Capitan 7, Granite Hills 2--Jason Escoto went three for three and scored three runs, Jeromy McGarity went three for four and Zach Salmon went two for three for El Capitan.

Nonleague

Grossmont 12, Helix 1--Kent Smith went three for four with two home runs and Joe Donlon had a three-run home run for host Grossmont (9-5-1).

El Cajon Valley 10, Mt. Miguel 0--Chris Holder went four for four with three RBIs for host El Cajon Valley (4-8).
