Parker S. Kennedy, 41, has been named president of First American Title Insurance Co. in Santa Ana, the second-largest title insurer in the country. He succeeds his father, D.P. Kennedy, 70, who becomes chairman after serving 26 years as president. William G. Was, who has been serving as chairman for the past five years, moved to vice chairman. D. P. Kennedy will continue as president of First American Financial Corp., a general holding company and parent of First American Title Insurance Co. Parker Kennedy will retain his position as executive vice president of First American Financial. The company was founded in 1889 by C.E. Parker, Parker Kennedy’s great-grandfather.
