Guard Kevin Johnson of the Phoenix Suns has been named the NBA’s most improved player. As a rookie last season, he averaged 9.2 points and 5.5 assists per game, and this season averaged 20.4 points and 12.2 assists. He spent part of his rookie season with Cleveland, then was traded to Phoenix on Feb. 25, 1988.
