Local News in Brief : Freeway Asphalt Spill Jams Morning Traffic
- Share via
Morning rush-hour traffic on the southbound Golden State Freeway in Burbank was snarled for more than four hours Wednesday because of a spill of asphalt onto the roadway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The vehicle carrying the asphalt did not stop after the spill, CHP Officer Linda Powell said.
Caltrans workers closed two lanes between Hollywood Way and Buena Vista Street from 5 a.m. to shortly after 9 a.m., Powell said.
Traffic was backed up during the cleanup from the scene of the spill north to the Simi Valley Freeway, she said.
