Japanese Firm Joins Developer of Landmark Square

LONG BEACH — Developers of the Landmark Square project have linked themselves with a Japanese firm, becoming the fourth major joint venture among downtown Long Beach redevelopment projects.
Cushman Investment & Development Corp. has joined with Asahi Development (USA) Corp. of Tokyo to build the $100-million tower at Pine Avenue and Ocean Boulevard.
The developers of Shoreline Square and the World Trade Center and the company converting the old Breakers Hotel into a retirement home also have had Japanese partners.
