Former First Lady Nancy Reagan has been elected to the board of Revlon Group Inc.
Revlon Chairman Ronald Perelman said in a statement that Mrs. Reagan had gained insight during her husband’s tenure as President and displayed leadership in fighting drug abuse that “will add an important additional perspective to the Revlon board of directors.”
Mrs. Reagan, who now resides in Los Angeles and is completing a book about her life, will serve as a director for an indefinite term. Revlon spokesman Jim Conroy would not comment on how much she will be paid to serve on the 15-member board.
Mrs. Reagan replaces Jewel Lafontant, a Chicago attorney who resigned to serve as an ambassador-at-large for the State Department.
The privately held Revlon’s business units include the cosmetic manufacturer Revlon Inc. and National Health Laboratories.
