GM Recalls School Bus Chassis and Pickups

DETROIT — General Motors Corp. today recalled about 21,500 1986-89 Chevrolet and GMC school bus chassis and about 6,000 1989 Chevrolet and GMC full-size pickups with optional trailer hitches.
The company said a crack could develop in its B6- and S7-model school bus chassis next to a weld on the fuel tank. The crack could cause a fuel leak.
Trailer hitches on the full-size pickups with 8-foot cargo boxes may have been tightened improperly when installed, possibly resulting in bolt breakage.
