The King Lives . . . at Least on Radio: Elvis Presley music is back on the air at a Memphis radio station, following a brief hiatus that outraged the singer’s still faithful followers in his hometown. New program director Ron Jordan of WHBQ-AM had banned Presley music from the station on Monday, saying it was played too often. But by Wednesday, he had received hundreds of calls from angry Elvis fans and backed off that decision. Now, he says, the station will play Presley music, but only one song every three hours or so. When Elvis was just getting started, the station was the first to play his music.
