Non-Aggressive War Memorial

The task force chaired by Adolfo Nodal (general manager of the city’s Department of Cultural Affairs) would like a non-aggressive image of war instead of a bellicose and threatening image? (Times, June 9). Because it will be too close to the peaceful bell (gift of Korea)?
Oh, well. Why didn’t he say so. I can see a dozen bronze figures in battle dress circling the bell in ring-around-a-rosy. Only, every time the bell rings, the statues weep.
