NATION : Yeltsin Book to Be Published in U.S.

NEW YORK — Maverick Soviet politician Boris Yeltsin’s memoirs on the inside workings of the Politburo will be published in the United States early next year, it was announced today.

A spokesman for Summit Books said it has acquired the U.S. and Canadian rights to publish Yeltsin’s as-yet unfinished memoirs for an undisclosed price in auction bidding with other publishers.

Part of the proceeds to Yeltsin will be donated to a new fund to fight acquired immune deficiency syndrome in the Soviet Union at the author’s request.
