ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals today reinstated right-handed pitcher Ted Power to replace outfielder Willie McGee, who was retroactively placed on the 21-day disabled list with a sprained left wrist.
The Cardinals also announced that team doctor Stan London put McGee’s wrist in a cast Tuesday. London said the cast would help immobilize the wrist.
McGee last appeared in a game June 6. His placement on the disabled list is retroactive to June 7.
Power, 34, comes off the 21-day disabled list. He suffered a pulled left rib-cage muscle May 17 at Houston.
