A 74-year-old woman died after a car driven by her husband ran a red light and collided with another vehicle in Kearny Mesa, police reported Wednesday.
After the Tuesday evening accident, Aliene Alta Nelson of Serra Mesa was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where she died at 8 p.m, a spokesman for the coroner’s office said.
The accident occurred when her husband, 70-year-old Ralph Nelson, ran a red light at Kearny Villa Road and Aero Drive and collided with a car crossing the intersection on a green light, police said.
Neither Ralph Nelson nor Della Renee Henry, 26, the driver of the other car, was injured, police said.
