El Cajon Man Held in Business Thefts

A 29-year-old El Cajon man, who has been linked by authorities to recent business burglaries, was arrested early Saturday morning, police said.
Anthony Wayne Smith was arrested on suspicion of six counts of burglary and taken to County Jail, authorities said.
Police responding to an alarm at a hobby shop in the 400 block of Broadway shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday saw Smith--with an armload of merchandise--standing in a parking lot behind the store.
Authorities searched Smith’s home and reported finding items linked to commercial businesses that had also been burglarized within the past three weeks.
