2 Blocks of Newhall Avenue to Be Closed

Beginning today, a two-block stretch of Newhall Avenue next to William S. Hart Park in Newhall will be closed to traffic for road work and storm drain construction, Santa Clarita public works officials said.
Newhall Avenue will be closed between Market Street and San Fernando Road for at least two months. Officials said they hope to open the street by Labor Day. The work is part of a state Department of Transportation project to upgrade San Fernando Road between Newhall Avenue and Sierra Highway.
