San Diego police determined Monday that a 28-year-old National City man who was first thought to have been murdered in a Logan Heights apartment complex instead died after accidentally shooting himself.
Kevin Le Blanc’s shotgun went off Saturday morning while he was loading it into his pickup truck after visiting a resident of the complex in the 4400 block of Mayberry Street, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.
The blast hit Le Blanc in the right leg. Police arrived and found Le Blanc alive, lying in a pool of blood next to his truck in the complex’s carport, Robinson said.
He bled to death before paramedics arrived.
