Honeywell Inc.: The Minneapolis manufacturer of automation and control systems said second-quarter net income more than doubled from the 1988 period. Earnings rose 137% to $74.8 million. Sales rose 2% to $1.78 billion. Honeywell said the year-ago profit included a charge of $43 million from unrecoverable contract costs and a discontinued product line.
