2 Gunmen Captured After Lengthy Chase

Two gunmen wanted for a department store robbery led law agencies from two counties on an hour-long 95-m.p.h. chase through Orange and Los Angeles counties until they came to a halt at a Boyle Heights intersection in Los Angeles. During the chase, the suspects reportedly fired a saweed-off shotgun at pursuing officers in Orange county but did not hit anyone. Officers did not return the fire.
San Diego police said the car had been used in a holdup of a Bullock’s Wilshire in La Jolla and had fled to the San Clemente checkpoint where someone spotted their license plates from a police broadcast. The suspects refused to stop until they apparently ran out of gas, police said.
