The Nebraska state attorney general is investigating allegations of corruption in thoroughbred racing in the state, including hidden ownership of a horse by a state racing official.
State prosecutors also have been presented with allegations of irregular licensing of convicted felons and selective enforcement of racing rules, a former trainer and other sources who declined to be identified.
Dennis Lee, a member of the Nebraska Racing Commission, said part of the investigation focuses on allegations that a staff member of the commission concealed ownership of a horse that ran in Nebraska in 1987.
