Delta to Appeal Ruling: Delta Air Lines said it will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court a federal appeals court ruling that held that the Assn. of Flight Attendants may pursue a merger-related claim for damages against the airline. Delta spokesman Bill Berry said the airline’s attorneys were preparing an appeal of the 3-0 ruling last week by the U.S. Court of Appeals, which held that the union can seek to compel arbitration over Western Airlines’ failure in 1987 to bind Delta to a collective bargaining agreement between the union and Western.
