3 Stanton Youths Held After Gunfire

Three youths from Stanton were arrested Monday on suspicion of attempted murder after police said they drove a pickup truck through a residential area in Westminster, shouting gang slogans and firing repeated shots that narrowly missed neighborhood pedestrians and children, police said.
The incident came just two days after similar drive-by gunfire in Westminster on Saturday.
Westminster Police Sgt. Jack Davidson said a feud is feared “between the Stanton area gang and ours here in Westminster.”
Police could not identify the targets of Monday’s shooting and did not release the names of the suspects, all of whom were said to be members of a Stanton gang, with one suspect 18 and the other two about 15.
Police believe at least five or six shots were fired about 5:30 p.m. in the 14300 block of Olive Street. The suspects were later captured in Stanton after a chase by sheriff’s deputies, who seized a handgun from their pickup.
