Legislation signed by Illinois Gov. James Thompson will allow Chicago to condemn privately owned land to clear the way for a $120-million home for the Bulls and Blackhawks.
The new arena, scheduled for completion in time for the 1992-93 National Basketball Assn. and National Hockey League seasons, will be on a site adjacent to Chicago Stadium, the city’s current basketball/hockey facility.
