Pacoima Man Found Dead in Front of School

A Pacoima man was found stabbed to death Tuesday on a sidewalk in front of an elementary school, Los Angeles police reported.

The body of the 40-year-old victim, whose identity was not released because his relatives had not been notified, was spotted by a passer-by shortly after 6 a.m. in the 13300 block of Vaughn Street, Lt. Bernard D. Conine said.

Detectives investigated the death as students arrived for summer school classes at Vaughn Street School.

Conine said there were indications that there had been a fight. A car that had sped away from the body left tire marks at the scene. No arrests were made and there are no suspects, Conine said.
