The coroner’s office has confirmed that a body that washed ashore in Huntington Beach about 5 p.m. Sunday is that of Craig Hand, 20, a brain tumor patient who disappeared Thursday in the surf at Bolsa Chica State Beach, police said.
The body was found lying between the Huntington Beach Pier and lifeguard tower No. 3.
Hand, who suffered from debilitating seizures, was last seen by his girlfriend at 2 p.m. Thursday entering the water off 11th Street. A search began 20 minutes later.
