* The housing market in the San Diego metropolitan area continued to show signs of leveling out from last year’s big gains.
According to the San Diego Board of Realtors, the average price of an existing house sold in July was $209,125, up 22% from the same month a year ago but less than the record price of $217,802 set in April of this year.
The median sales price, or the price at which half of all houses sold for more and half for less, was $174,000, virtually unchanged since April, the board said.
