‘Fad’ Architecture

Hurray for Kaplan! This is one of the most timely pieces I’ve read, and I read them all (trades, newspapers, etc.). Unfortunately, architecture has already become a merchandising fad, another victim of over-commercialization.
Kaplan’s perspective should be taken as a caveat: Our wonderful American culture will become a merchandising fad if we continue to subscribe to the “undiscerning media.”
