World record-holder Sebastian Coe ran his fastest 800-meter race since 1985 at an international track meet in Bern, Switzerland and Renaldo Nehemiah, who lost his world record in the 110-meters hurdles two weeks ago, snapped back with his best time in eight years.
Coe, 32, expected to retire after this season, recorded the third-best time in the world this season at 1 minute 43.38 seconds.
Nehemiah, 30, held off a finish-line challenge from fellow American Tonie Campbell to win in 13.20 seconds. Campbell was clocked at 13.27.
