BUENA PARK — Quarterback Greg Windle’s two touchdown passes and a solid defense led Troy High School to a 23-0 Freeway League victory over Buena Park Friday night at Buena Park High School.
Windle completed a 19-yard pass to Tim Hostetler in the final 16 seconds of the first half and passed 20 yards to Ryan Russell with 6:27 left in the third quarter. Windle completed 8 of 20 passes for 102 yards.
Running back Chad Brasington carried 16 times for 105 of Troy’s 117 rushing yards. He also scored the Warriors’ first touchdown early in the game on a 10-yard run up the middle.
“Our defense played exceptionally well,” Troy Coach John Turek said.
Troy (5-3, 2-1) held Buena Park (2-6, 1-2) to 74 yards in total offense. The Coyotes could gain only 19 yards in the first half.
“Brasington had a nice game, but we weren’t real sharp throwing the ball,” Turek said.
