LOCAL : Fumes Rout Santa Ana Burglar

A gasping suspected burglar was apprehended today as he emerged from a house that had been tented for fumigation in Santa Ana, authorities said.
A Mater Dei High School security guard, apparently seeing the man emerge from the house at Baker and Occidental streets, held the suspect for police. The suspect told officers that he feared an accomplice might have been overcome by fumes in the house.
Police, firefighters and fumigation company personnel conducted a search of the house, but no one was found. The suspect’s name was not immediately available, officers said.
