From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Ku Klux Klan members said they planned a turkey shoot to mark the slaughter of five communists slain by white supremacists in a bloody rampage 10 years ago. Duke University and Greensboro, N.C., churches conducted memorial services for those killed when members of the Communist Workers Party--mostly poor blacks and disenchanted college students--conducted a “Death to the Klan” march at a Greensboro housing project. The communists were attacked on Nov. 3, 1979, by members of the klan and the National Socialist Party of America.
