Several University of Miami football players have told school officials that a sports agent offered them $20,000 and the use of a car as an inducement to sign with him, the Miami Herald reported.

The agent, Mel Levine of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., denied the allegations.

In 1986, Levine became the focus of a university investigation into why four Miami football players were driving cars leased by their relatives from companies owned by Levine. Linebacker Winston Moss was suspended for one game as a result of the investigation.
