Springsteen Tells Band Goodby: Bruce Springsteen has told members of his longtime group, the E Street Band, that he won’t be using them on his next album. A Springsteen spokesman told Newsweek that the Boss chatted with each of his highly respected bandmates recently and told them “to feel free to pursue other things.” The spokesman said Springsteen had long conversations with each of them. “It seems to be in Bruce’s mind that he’s not planning to use the band on the next album.” Most members of the E Street band have been together for about 15 years. There are no indications of who will be playing on the next Springsteen album or even when it will be coming out.
