Capistrano Valley 35, Burroughs 21--Tony Sollida threw three touchdown passes to Dave Poltl in the first half as top-seeded Capistrano Valley led, 35-7, at halftime at home. Sollida completed 11 of 16 for 155 yards before Capistrano Valley (11-0) cleared its bench. Paul Shaheen rushed for 87 yards in six carries and started the scoring with a 37-yard run in the first period.
Burroughs (3-8) struck in the first half on a 17-yard option pass play from Danny Suarez to Joe Atwell to make the score 28-7.
