HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER ROUNDUP : Royal Reaches Consolation Title Match

Royal High swept a pair of matches Thursday to advance to today’s consolation final of the Damien tournament. Royal (9-2) will meet Claremont at 11 today at Damien High in La Verne.
Matt Brinkman scored a pair of goals in both matches. The Highlanders beat North Hollywood, 4-1, and El Dorado, 5-2.
In other nonleague games:
Burroughs 6, Bell-Jeff 0--Carlos Roque and Jesus Munoz each scored two goals to lead Burroughs. Steve Douglass and Mika Persson combined to record the shutout.
ALTA LOMA GIRLS’ TOURNAMENT
Royal 6, Montclair 1--Wende Brown scored two goals and assisted on two others as Royal (11-1) advanced to the final at Alta Loma.
