Noisy Party’s Host Shot by Neighbor, Police Say

A Simi Valley man shot his neighbor with an assault rifle after complaining about noise from a party the victim was hosting Friday night, police said Saturday.
Larry Dennis, 33, suffered three gunshot wounds to the upper thigh and buttocks, Simi Valley Police Sgt. Arch Morgan said. Dennis remained in serious condition Saturday night at Simi Valley Adventist Hospital.
Steven Plummer, 32, who also lives in the condominium complex in the 2000 block of Avenida Refugio, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Morgan said.
The incident occurred when Plummer asked party-goers at Dennis’ home to quiet down because he was trying to sleep, Morgan said. When Plummer returned with an assault rifle, Dennis grabbed for it and was shot, police said.
