Oil Slick Threatening Morocco Heads to Sea

RABAT, Morocco — Winds and currents are sweeping the remains of the oil slick that threatened Morocco’s Atlantic coast out to sea, a government statement said Sunday.
It said the slick that once stretched 185 miles has now broken into two smaller sections, with the closest being 30 miles offshore.
At one time, the 70,000-ton oil slick from the disabled Iranian supertanker Kharg 5 had drifted to within 10 miles of shore.
