Indiana forward Lawrence Funderburke has contacted the University of Kentucky about transferring, Coach Rick Pitino said. He said that Funderburke, a 6-foot-8 freshman who quit Indiana’s team in December, recently contacted Athletic Director C. M. Newton. However, Indiana Coach Bobby Knight told Newton by phone that he wouldn’t release Funderburke from his scholarship.
