Irvine Unified School District’s board of trustees has appointed Michael B. Regele to serve out the term of departed board member Gordon G. Getchel.
Regele, 37, is president and co-founder of Church Information and Development Services, a Santa Ana-based church consulting firm. Regele is a former schoolteacher and has also taught as a substitute in the Irvine school district.
Regele has been an Irvine resident for 10 years and has served on the district’s strategic planning committee and on the school site council at Westwood Basics Plus Elementary School. He has five children, three of whom attend schools in the Irvine district.
Regele was selected from a list of 14 applicants for the board seat. His appointment will last through December, 1991, the time remaining on Getchel’s term.
Getchel, who moved to Sacramento, resigned in December.
