Orange County Sheriff’s investigators are seeking information on the identity of a rapist in a Dec. 28 Mission Viejo incident.
The suspect gained entry to a 29-year-old woman’s apartment by pulling a silver, semiautomatic handgun from his waistband and claiming he was a detective.
He is described as a white man, 45 to 50 years old, about 6 feet tall, and weighing 170 pounds. He has dark brown, wavy hair, combed straight back, with a slightly receding hairline. His face was described as small, with shallow cheeks and high cheekbones, a small mouth and a small, thin nose.
He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white shirt and a short jacket. No other similar incidents have occurred, sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Investigator Ed Anderson from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at (714) 567-3862, or call (714) 647-7000 at any time, Olson said.
