PACIFIC 10 CONFERENCE ROUNDUP : Oregon State Struggles Past Oregon

Scott Haskin scored from underneath with one second left Saturday night as No. 22 Oregon State edged Oregon, 69-67, in a Pacific 10 Conference game at Eugene, Ore.
Gary Payton, who scored 30 points, had given the Beavers their first lead of the game, 63-62, on a field goal and free throw with 3:28 left.
Payton dominated the last 4:30 to keep the Beavers undefeated in conference play. His free throw tied the score for the first time at 58-58 after a foul by Oregon’s Terrell Brandon.
Brandon had 21 points and Keith Reynolds 20 for Oregon.
Payton, on his way to scoring 10 consecutive points, made a 10-foot jump shot for a 60-60 tie with 4:00 left.
California 63, Washington 58--Forward Roy Fisher scored 17 points, including eight during an eight-minute stretch in which the Bears took the lead at Seattle.
Cal (12-4, 3-2) outscored Washington, 16-4, during the run for a 52-45 lead with five minutes left.
Cal Coach Lou Campanelli credited Fisher.
“We were ignited by Roy’s second-half play,” he said. “I like how we responded when we got down. We didn’t fold.”
